MSH STARS LAUNCHES NEW EMPLOYEE RECOGNITION TRADITION

Mississippi State Hospital held its first MSH STARS celebration Wednesday, September 9, in the Employee Dining Room in Building 56. The new monthly recognition program was created to shine a spotlight on the employees who make a difference across MSH and to provide an opportunity to celebrate their hard work and accomplishments. STARS reflects the hospital’s core values of Support, Teamwork, Accountability, Respect and Synergy, values that guide how employees work together, care for patients and residents, and support each other as teammates.

During the inaugural celebration, MSH recognized Employees of the Month for August and September, along with employees reaching service milestones, earning promotions and certifications, and celebrating birthdays. August Employees of the Month were Shanda Ratliff, Erica Darden and Laureath Mason, while September honorees were Damylah Rhyme, Vicki Jennings and Suzette Johnson. Employees who recently advanced in their careers or earned new credentials were also recognized as part of the celebration. 

MSH STARS is designed to make employee recognition a regular part of campus life and to celebrate both major accomplishments and the everyday contributions that can sometimes go unnoticed. Beginning in October, the program will also include quarterly perfect attendance recognition, with annual perfect attendance awards joining the celebration in January.
